More practice with an iPad. It is getting a little easier to get the lines where I want them.
My pen sorta-kinda works! The exact quote seems to be hard to pin down with this one but you get the idea.
I need to find time to draw something.
More sketching practice. Things are still busy, but my evenings have settled down a bit so I’m going to try to do some practice sketch things each night. Well, that’s the plan at least.
Oh! Did I mention? I’m starting a Drawing Fundamentals art class this Saturday!
Frustrated. I haven’t been able to draw for about two weeks now (I think). Without going into detail, a lot of things have decided they will all happen at once, and I’ve either been exhausted, busy, or stressed to get any drawing done.
I’ve always told myself I’d post everything on this blog—good or bad—as it’s here to record the journey I’m on while I learn to draw.
So here’s tonight’s attempt. I’m disappointed in it; I just can’t seem to manage it today. But in the spirit of this blog it’s here, warts and all. Well, no warts, mostly badly drawn boobies, but you get the idea.
Trying to apply some things I’ve been reading in various books. Learning is tricky. And now it’s time for bed.
For some reason when I just doodle practice things they frequently default to Kanaya. I do like Kanaya a lot.
Kanaya Maryam is from Andrew Hussie’s Homestuck.
This quote has been making the rounds on Tumblr. It’s attributed to Bob Ross.
The actual quote (as far as I can find) is: “I started painting as a hobby when I was little. I didn’t know I had any talent. I believe talent is just a pursued interest. Anybody can do what I do.”
But I like the version that is making the rounds on Tumblr as well. <3
Quote from Andrew Loomis’s “Drawing the head and hands” on a system card. Namiki Falcon pen, Sailor Jentle blue-black ink (which feathered a bit).
Can’t really draw today. Quick figure drawing.
Feet! I have trouble drawing feet, so I practised drawing some, with photo references. Feet are much trickier than hands and I don’t really get how they work yet.
Improvement since August last year.
All pictures are Terezi Pyrope from Andrew Hussie’s Homestuck.
I don’t think I’ll finish this, but more practice stuff. Pose/outfit referenced directly from a cosplay photo by amayhun on deviantART (Oh, I hope she doesn’t mind I did that. :S)
Bluh. Hands.
